Online prenatal trainer: working with clients in any country

Online training for pregnancy and postpartum recovery – with a Russian-speaking trainer, wherever you live.

In short. Online training for pregnancy with a Russian-speaking trainer is relevant for women living abroad, where the perinatal support system is organised differently or limited by a language barrier. It is live work over video, not a recording: the trainer sees the client, corrects technique and breathing in the moment, the programme is built individually after an intro session (about an hour). Technical requirements are minimal – a device with a camera, space to move, a mat, Zoom or WhatsApp. Time zones are not a problem: the schedule is agreed individually. The only limit of the online format compared to in-person is no hands-on work; everything else is fully available. Postpartum recovery online follows the same logic as in-person: intro session covering the type of birth and current concerns, gentle first sessions focused on breathing and pelvic floor, gradual progression. Diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, back pain, pelvic instability – all are addressed in the programme. An additional benefit for women living abroad: regular structured contact with someone who understands the context and speaks your language.

The only real limit of online training during pregnancy is no hands-on work; watching technique, adjusting breathing, building a programme for your stage and state, support between sessions are all available in a video call as fully as in person.

When you live abroad, the familiar support system – doctors you trust, friends who have already been through it, specialists in a language you understand – stays far away. Pregnancy or postpartum recovery in another country is not just a new experience. It is an experience where what is often missing is clear, close contact.

The online format solves this without compromise. I work with clients in different countries – all that is needed is the Russian language and a willingness to move.

Why online matters especially abroad

It is not only about convenience. In Russia a woman usually has access to several specialists at once: obstetrician-gynaecologist, physiotherapist, osteopath, postpartum recovery trainer. Abroad the system is organised differently – or not organised in the way that is familiar.

A doctor in another country may not speak your language, medical paperwork translates with difficulty, and recommendations sound different from what you are used to. In this situation a Russian-speaking specialist who understands your frame of reference is already valuable.

On top of this, many women abroad are in a situation where there is no “own crowd” nearby: the husband works, relatives are far, there are no friends with children. Online sessions are both movement and regular structured contact with someone who understands what is happening with you.

What online work includes

Online is not a video recording you watch on your own. It is live work in real time.

The intro session – the first step before any programme. We review your situation: stage or recovery phase, how you feel, training background, restrictions from your doctor, your daily setup. This is not a formality – this meeting decides how the rest of the work will look. It lasts about an hour, in a video call.

The programme – built individually after the intro session. No ready templates: exercises, sets, load and pace are chosen for you. The programme is updated as how you feel or your stage changes.

Sessions – take place in a video call. I see you, you see me. I watch technique, correct in the moment, follow your breath and how the body responds. The online format makes it possible to do everything an in-person session does – provided you have enough space to move.

Support between sessions – if a question, discomfort or change in state appears between meetings, you can message. I reply and, if needed, adjust the plan.

How it works technically

For online sessions you do not need anything special.

  • A device with a camera and microphone – laptop, tablet or phone. Phone is best placed so I can see you full height or at least to the waist.
  • Space – enough room to lie down and take a step to the side. A yoga mat or any non-slip surface.
  • Connection – stable internet. Calls are over Zoom or WhatsApp – whichever is easier.
  • Equipment – usually nothing besides a mat. Occasionally a light ball or small weights, but that is agreed in advance.

Time zones are not a problem. My clients are in different countries, the schedule is agreed individually.

Pregnancy abroad: what it tends to look like

A medical system in another country always means adapting. In some countries obstetric care is organised so that a woman sees a doctor once every few weeks and gets minimal information between visits. In others, protocols differ from Russian ones so much that familiar recommendations simply do not apply.

What my clients abroad often run into:

  • A language barrier with the doctor – it is not always possible to ask the question that is actually worrying
  • Different approaches to physical activity: in some countries it is actively encouraged, in others almost any load is treated with suspicion
  • A lack of familiar formats: in Russia there are prenatal courses, birth preparation groups, specialised studios. These are not available everywhere
  • Information hunger: you want to understand what is normal and what is not, but there is no one to ask

In this context our work is not just training. It is a space where you can move, ask questions and get orientation from a specialist who speaks your language and shares your frame of reference.

On the physical side – the programme is always built taking into account what your doctor says. If you have restrictions, we work within them. If your doctor’s recommendations differ from what you are used to – we go through this together and build a safe format.

Postpartum recovery online

The postpartum period is one of the most vulnerable in a woman’s life, and at the same time one of the most undervalued. Especially if you are far from family.

Physical recovery after birth is not just “getting back in shape”. It is a gradual return to movement through the right sequence: first, restoring breath and intra-abdominal pressure, the pelvic floor muscles, core stability. And only after that – the load you are used to calling training.

In online work this process is built the same way as in person:

  • Postpartum intro session – we go through how birth went (vaginal or caesarean), how you are now, what is bothering you, what you want
  • First sessions – gentle, focused on recovery, no forcing
  • Gradual progression – as the body recovers and how you feel improves

Diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, back pain, pelvic instability – all of this is addressed in the programme. If an extra consultation with a specialist is needed, I will say so.

The only thing I cannot do online is hands-on work. Everything else – movement, technique, observation, support – is fully available.

Where to start

The first step is an intro session. It lasts about an hour, runs online, and by the end you have an understanding of how the work will look and what to do next.

You can book through WhatsApp or Telegram – contacts on the contact page. Mention that you live abroad and want to work online – we will agree on a time that suits your time zone.
