What is the intro session and who is it for

The intro session is a calm first step: understanding your situation, a baseline assessment, and choosing the right format – with no pressure.

Why the intro session exists

Starting to exercise after childbirth or during pregnancy is a decision that often stalls – not because of motivation, but because of uncertainty. Can I? Where do I start? How do I avoid doing harm? There is plenty of advice online, but very little of it accounts for your specific situation. The intro session exists to answer these questions before you commit to anything.

It is not a workout, not a sales pitch, and not the first step of a path you cannot leave. It is a chance to calmly understand where you are – and decide whether further work makes sense, and if so, in what format and at what pace.

What it is

The intro session is a one-on-one consultation lasting about an hour. We get acquainted, discuss your history and current condition, do a baseline assessment – and together determine what is realistic for you right now.

This is not an “introductory workout” or a product demonstration. The session has one purpose: to build a clear picture – where you are, what needs to be considered, and what format of work would be appropriate. Sessions are available in Samara or online – your choice.

Who it is for

The intro session is for any woman who wants to start working with a trainer but does not know where to begin. Typical situations include:

  • You are pregnant and want to stay active, but are unsure what is safe at your stage and with your condition
  • You are postpartum – after a vaginal birth or C-section – and do not know where you stand in terms of recovery
  • You have not exercised in a long time and worry that the format might be too intense
  • You have trained before but felt the approach was not right for you – and want to understand the difference
  • You do not want to purchase a training package without first understanding what to expect and how things work

The session is also useful if you are not sure whether you need a trainer at all. It lets you evaluate the format without any obligation – and decide whether to continue after you have seen how it works.

What happens during the session

The session consists of three stages. Everything proceeds at a calm pace, without rushing.

Conversation. I ask about your wellbeing, history, limitations, and goals. I need to understand not just the physical picture, but the context: what concerns you, what you have tried before, what you want from training, and whether you have any guidance from your doctor. There are no wrong answers – I need an honest picture.

Baseline assessment. Depending on your situation – a few simple movements that help me see how your body handles load, how your breathing works, how your core and pelvic floor engage. This is not a test or an exam – movements are chosen so that you are comfortable. If anything causes discomfort, we discuss it and adjust.

Discussion. I explain what I see: where you are, what is realistic now, and what to pay attention to. We discuss possible formats – personal training, online support, small groups – and a pace that makes sense to start with. If there are things that should be discussed with a doctor, I will say so. You decide what fits.

What you leave with

After the intro session, you have:

  • An understanding of where you are – not abstract, but based on a specific conversation and assessment
  • Clarity on limitations: what is appropriate now and what is better postponed
  • A sense of which format – personal sessions, online, or small group – suits your situation
  • An understanding of what pace is realistic to start with
  • Answers to any questions that have built up

This is not a full training plan – that requires systematic work. But it is a foundation after which your decision to continue is based on understanding, not guesswork. You see how the process works and can decide whether this format is right for you.

What the intro session is not

To make sure expectations match reality:

Not a workout. We are not working toward a result. The goal is to assess the situation, not to add load.

Not a medical consultation. I do not diagnose conditions or replace a doctor. If a question arises that falls outside my competence, I will tell you which specialist to consult.

Not a commitment. After the session, you freely decide whether to continue and in what format. No pressure, no automatic packages. Many people come specifically to understand whether they need a trainer at all – and that is a perfectly valid reason.

Why starting is easier than it seems

The main anxiety before a first step is usually not about the load itself – it is about the unknown. What will happen? What is expected of me? What if I am not ready? What will the trainer think?

The intro session is designed to remove exactly this uncertainty. You do not need to “know” anything in advance. You do not need to be in shape. You do not need to arrive with a clear request – we will figure it out together.

The purpose of the session is to give you enough information to make an informed decision. No rushing, no pressure, no nudging toward a purchase. Just a calm conversation – and then you decide.
